[22 September] Week 10 term 3 ends | term 3 holiday begins

September 22, 2006 – 6:17 pm

It's the last week of the term, you know, this kind of special week were also known as international wagging week - an upgrade from "wagging day".

Apart from people went on geography Fiji trip; number of people present at school just had a dramatic decrease in this week. One teacher, he usually has 30 students in his junior class but only 9 of them turned out in Friday.

Our four principals were on action this Friday. From period 3 they were literately checking from class to class and record all names that didn't turned up. Just one thing to wonder, how they recorded all the names if there is only 9 people present?

Also as far as I understand, the control of people out from school has been also tighten. There are some reports saying that school's newly hired attendance officer are doing nothing, some people confirmed that he didn't even stop people going out of school.

Despite all of those risks, many people still decided to wag.

I always think that wag at the last day isn't a very good idea, especially for school like this which has a serious attendance problem.

However, I legally wagged on Wednesday this week, for good, and I have to thank my mum to give me a note says that I got an appointment with my doctor. Actually I went home after first period to watch Steve Irwin's public memorial service, Live on TV, and you can see more details in the last post.

Just few days ago I was telling my friend, if I was in university this year I'll definitely going to Australia, and be one of the thousands of people who waited in line to get tickets for the service, and be there. Sadly I'm a year younger so I can't, but I did every thing I could to show my last respect to this great man, a fair dinkum conservationist.

School has also done another thing which made me quite unhappy about. They forced all people to clear their locker no late before Wednesday this week so that they could get them for repair, or they will help us to 'do it'. I'm not only unhappy about to see those lockers were still there after I leave school Friday, which only shows school isn't that hurry to help us them, also the real reason behind is a Christianity group is about to make a short film in the common room, and school management doesn't want the whole world to see how Penrose really look like.

Term 3 is now finished and nearly everyone is saying something like 'this is a study break' or that famous quote 'this is the last golden opportunity!". For me the term won't finish anyway, I have to go to school next Monday and Tuesday, for chemistry tuition, and while at home I have to internal assessments to do, which are two huge reports.

And apart from that, there are also revisions to do.

Hope god could save New Zealand, and save its citizens from homework.
