Bill Gates' last full working day at Microsoft
This video clip is from 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show. Whether you like Micro$oft or not, this one is quite fun...
Happy birthday, TCP/IP!
Thanks to Google's reminder, the start of 2008 also marks the twenty-fifth birthsday of TCP/IP.

For ordinary people this new year Google logo means no more than new year celebration. But when you look closer on the bottom parts, you can see the coloured dots form a set of letters"SYN,SYN,ACK,ACK".
That is the handshake message of TCP/IP protocol, 25 years ago this day, the protocol was first implemented on U.S ARPANET. It is one of the basic protocols that, how to explain this, a basic language that enables computers on a network to find and communicate to each other.
Almost all internet communications today are based on TCP/IP.
I never fully understood how it works (it's not my field), but if you want to know more, the Wikipedia is always there.
The real reason behind National's series of policies.
...Policies like privatise school buildings, and Bill English's selling SOEs to fund tax cuts.
If you cannot see the video, it's here. For your reference, this episode of Facelift was on air on 20 Augest 2007. I have to say that this programme is not only funny, but also very good at making political predictions.
Do’h! It is now officially a “word” and “quote”
Homer's Doh! entered Oxford English Dictionary in 2001, but this time they actually found some references as early as 1945.
Doh, or as my way of write this word, "Do'h!" Expressing frustration at the realization that things have turned out badly or not as planned, or that one has just said or done something foolish. Also (usu. mildly derogatory): implying that another person has said or done something foolish (cf.DUH int.).
The word also entered Oxford Dictionary of Modern Quotations this time.
I think I may now try to use this word in everyday conversation.
The Simpsons Movie
I know it's bit too late, but I haven't had anytime to see it until yesterday, the semester break starts. It doesn't mean that all assignments will have a two weeks break as well.
However, I rewarded myself a field trip to theatre after Friday's fieldtrip to rubbish dump (I'm not joking).
The movie itself, frankly speaking, is not as good as I expected, but still exceptional. I particularly loved some of its references to politics. My favourate is President Schwarzenegger's saying "I was elected to lead, not to read" when 5 options to deal with environment disaster were presented to him.
And another good thing is, they finally revealed the "who voiced who" part. Wonder how a person can voice so many characters from Homer to Itchy.
Overall I enjoyed it a lot, and I'll definitely own it sometime in future.
Emmmmmmmm... This might be a good way to do it.
Facelift
If you missed this season premier laster night, here's a chance to catch up some of its funniest moments. But there is one missing ... they should put the first A.S.S. (Anti-Smacking Squad) one online ... Oh, and, it's rated Adult Only.
This excellent TV ONE political comedy seriess usually on air just before the late night news. Strange enough, for me, I always feel that the familiar politician faces showed up in the night news immediately after the comedy just look as funny as they are still in Facelift.
