It's just another site visit...

29 September 2007 – 9:47 pm

This one due next monday, it's the last major assignment .... before the "big group work one".

I don't want say which suburb is, that's for you to guess ... it's in Auckland though. Abundance of greens, nice terraced houses, but very unfriendly people. I was stopped by at least three peoplein one hour, they questioned and treated me like a thief or a foreign spy who got their personal secretes in the camera.

I think I'd better own a UoA shirt so next time when people start to think that they have captured a foreign spy, instead of endless explanations, I may just point them the university insignia on the shirt .

Apart from that spy thing, I quite like the style of houses there. Some terraced houses look really even you know that they are at least 30 years old.

There seems to be a lot of photos from this suburb on Wikipedia, so I didn't upload below ones there. Regular cc-by-nc-nd copyright still applies.

DNS Resolve problem - unexpected outage

27 September 2007 – 3:37 pm

As you may noticed, there was an unexpected outage around 12am to 2pm NZ time today. This whole site seems to be offlined and returns 404 error(page not found) on every page you requested.

Cause of the problem is still unclear and I’m investigating on it. It seems like a DNS resolve problem either from my host or my own error… not really sure about it, so if you see this blog go offlined again today or in the next few days, please don’t think of that the whole site is gone.

Other strange thing is that the IP of my site seems to has changed. If you are visiting this site from Mainland China, please leave a comment here so I know that this new IP is not blocked by GFW and still available in China, thank you.(Still accessible from mainland china,  thanks  for those who help confirmed this.)

I apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patient.

How's the weather, Jim?

24 September 2007 – 7:07 pm

It's nice to see our favourite weatherman, Jim Hickey back. Was bit nervous for this second "first time", but, hey, that's understandable.

The weather has become the most boring part of the news for me since he's departure in 2003 but that is no longer the case now. Welcome back, Jim.

[Exclusive]Home of Anan Liu and Nai Yin Xue, revisited

21 September 2007 – 6:58 pm

Great to see that car I nearly sat on has disappeared...

There are flowers and fruits on the scene from people mourning Ms Anan Liu, Qian Xun Xue (the pumpkin)'s mum. I also encountered apparently a police office looking for evidence inside the house but did not seem like took anything away significantly.

Below are some photos from my visit.
